Awanish Kumar Dev Memorial Lecture:

The Awanish Kumar Dev Memorial Lecture series is dedicated to the memory of Late Awanish Kumar Dev.

The memorial lecture is intended for HR fraternity to show solidarity & respect for our colleague who lost his life for the cause of HR. The lecture is also intended to bring together CEO’s, HR thought leaders, IR Professionals, Academicians and Management Students to discuss and share their views on the IR issues & Challenges facing the country.

It is an annual event conducted in collaboration with Maruti Suzuki India Limited, National Human Resource Development Network (NHRDN) and Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS,Ranchi).

The purpose of the annual lecture is to contribute to the public debate about contemporary issues in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relationsand Labor Relations. The speaker is a generally a distinguished HR/IR person, academician or a policy maker .The speakers are chosen on the basis of their ability to illuminate some large and important topic which has wide relevance. Topics that have been discussed in recent years include – forecasting the upcoming challenges in HR-IR domain,discussing the strategies to face the challenges and the changing dynamics and aspirations of our workforce.

The lecture is followed by a contribution from a student panel wherein bright minds from reputed B-schools put forward their views. The panel has deliberated on topics of relevance such as Challenges of handling Gen Y Blue Collar in Indian Context, Redefiningthe HR strategy in the changing Era. There is then a full debate and mentoring session in which members of the audience are invited to participate.
