About the Awanish Kumar Dev Memorial Scholarship:

The Awanish Kumar Dev Memorial Scholarships are postgraduate awards supporting outstanding students at the Xavier Institute of Social Service, Ranchi.

The vision in establishing the Scholarship is to develop outstanding leaders in the field of Human Resource Management by encouraging competitiveness and learning among the HR Specialization students at XISS, Ranchi. Mr. Awanish Kumar Dev sacrificed his life for the cause of HR fraternity. The scholarship will keep memories of his sacrifice alive.

The first scholarship was awarded to three XISS students in the year 2013.Since then a scholarship of One Lakh rupees each is being awarded to three students every year. So far the trust has distributed 15 scholarships to students of XISS.

Scope:

Selection committee will be seeking applications from young women and men of outstanding intellect, character, and commitment in the field of HR from Batch of 1st Year PGDM program of XISS in HRM. Scholarship of Rs. 1, 00,000 (Rupees One Lakh only) each will be awarded to the shortlisted candidate.

Criteria to be used in the selection of Scholars:

  • Scholastic attainments
  • Moral force of character and instincts to lead.
  • Truth, Courage, devotion to duty and fellowship

Applying for the Scholarship:

Scholarship Criteria:

The Scholarship recipients will be selected on merit cum means basis as per the following criteria-

  • 60% & Above in class X, XII & Graduation
  • 65% & Above in all the semester exams of XISS
  • Quality of Summer Internship
  • Participation in Extra Curricular Activities
  • Contribution to Society & Social Work/li>
  • Financial Need- Economic background of the students also will be kept in mind at the time of Selection of eligible students.

Selection Committee:

  • Application forms will be screened by the Selection Committee comprising of Mrs. Suparna Dev, wife of late Mr. Awanish Kumar Dev & other Trustee of Maruti Suzuki XISS Awanish Kumar Dev Memorial Trust and 3 other senior jury members selected from alumni / major donors/ Institute’s Faculty.
